Nothing quite spells out downtime like a home cinema–and we’re not talking a flimsy projector lit against a wall with a few mismatched chairs in a dingy den.

Instead, think Hollywood meets home. With sink-into-the-fabric armchairs hugged by textured throws, and a deep yet soft muted color scheme that lets the stellar-quality screen provide all the Pantone. Lastly, a beautiful bar–reminiscent of a James Bond scene–would be the olive in the martini.

To turn this interior script into a dream scene, we collaborated with Fiona Brass Interiors to create a home cinema worthy of an Oscar.

The Brief

Classic Hollywood luxury was top of mind when choosing fabrics. Working alongside Fiona, we selected a high-pile carpet for a velvety red carpet-for-the-toes feel, and faux silk for added luxury and comfort. A dark ambiance was paramount in creating a moody, mysterious movie-star quality. Lastly, the pool table added an element of game room fun.

Our Process

Creating the ultimate “escape room” meant that practicality wasn’t a priority–it was all about the experience. So we went the extra mile to infuse as much of a trip-to-the-cinema experience as possible, going as far as constructing a raised platform with LED lights, and a tiered viewing room so the “back row” peered over the front. The rich, velvety high pile carpet was a perfect choice to facilitate pitch-perfect acoustics.

The Result

The client was ecstatic to have a slice of Hollywood luxury on their doorstep, they could escape to at any moment. There’s been an uptick of friends coming over to experience the ultimate cinema outing–and glowing 5* reviews all around.
